AutoScreenRecorder Free is a free application with basic options to record your screen activities. With the help of the program you will be able to record activities in full screen, active window, to record activities of an object, or rectangular area of the screen. The recorded activities will be saved as AVI file that will be named automatically; in the free edition you are not allowed to set the program to ask you to name each file before it is saved.
Among the options you are allowed to adjust is the possibility to set hotkeys for starting, pausing/resuming, stopping and canceling the record. Obviously, there should have been an option to set different hotkeys to start and stop the record, but, unfortunately, it is not working and, by default, the hotkey to stop the record is the same as to start it.
Also you are enabled to adjust the options of the mouse for left- and right- click effects. Every mouse click on the saved video file may be shown with the effect of a certain shape and color which you are to choose, surely, you are able to turn the effects off. With the effects shown you will surely never miss a click. Unfortunately, the program is not able to record video with sounds which could replace the effects.
All in all, AutoScreenRecorder Free is very easy to use, though is rather basic, which may be explained by the absence of a price. There are a lot of screen capture programs having built-in screen video recorders, so you may use one of them not to have many applications installed on your PC.
